Hey, Michael. Do you mind if I make a midi to your arrangement of Vamo Alla Flamenco?

Quick question... How do you go about making these .midi files? I have a music composing program that allowed me to make one after I put all the notes in and stuff, but can you also do it from a keyboard? How do I go about making one!!??   ^_^

What I do is imput the notes into Finale and then go to Save As, and then select .MID as the file format.

Finale? Is that the program you use to compose? I think I'd like to get it. How much does it cost?

You can download a version for free...at least, you could...Finale Notepad, I believe. I had to download it in high school when I had music compositions assigned.

Yeah, that's the program I use. Except mine was Finale Notepad 2004, and now they are out with 2005, or so I believe. I didn't know you could save it as a .mid file... God I need to get out more often @_@;;

A link to Finale Notepad, Graceria? If that's what you meant by that statement, then go here http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/

If that wasn't what you meant, please feel free to inform me and I'll find a link to whatever it was! ^^

EDIT: I updated the link so that it leads you directly to the download page, where you can choose which platform you want to download the program for. Either, Mac or PC.

I´ll do my Midifiles with a Masterkeyboard. I just have to link it with my pc over Usb and then input the tunes in FruityLoops or another Sequencer.
But with some Keyboards (Yamaha...) u can record ur music live and save ur arangements on 3,5 Floppy Disks as .mid
I don´t mind to be alone...

Finale, I have used it back in high school and I find it to be the easiest program on the windows side, it also works on mac well= the best one to use for midis. :)  Besides Piano Keyboard, you can also plug in an electric guitar for input or think it out... It is quite easy to compose in once you have a feel for it.

There's also the awesome included OS X- SoundRecorder on Mac side which will record anything, I use it to record voice onto the former midis converted into mp3s for composition demos.
