*grabs Ameria’s Writing Stick* No need, the input was appreciated.
But yes, I quite agree Michael.
There were plenty of plot twists, a few events were surprising and/or earth-shattering enough to change some characters’ personas to a certain extent. The ending itself consisted of a surprising plot twist (surprising, but not beyond comprehension - I mean, it wasn’t like “Wolf’s Rain”, “Big O”, or the mother of them all, “Neon Genesis Evangelion”). And as Ameria-chan said, the ending was a mix of both happy and sad. And the sad parts leave you with hope for the future.
The alchemists are from all walks of life - from the small, simple village alchemists who create/repair things in their home village, to the elite alchemists of the military with enough power to use their alchemy for war. And Edward Elrich and Alphonse Elrich being quite unique, of course. Although the former became a state alchemist with an obligation to serve the military, they have their own agendas to pursue.
And, for all the discipline you expect to find in the military, they still had their share of hijinks.
I’m probably not remembering it exactly, but this quote is from Lt. Col. Roy Mustang, the fire alchemist:
“And when I am general... I’LL MAKE ALL THE WOMEN IN THE MILITARY WEAR MINI-SKIRTS!”
Well, anyway, I saw that anime because we watched it at our anime club last semester. And I wasn’t even one of the people who opted to choose that as the series to watch through to the end that semester. I told them “Look, it’s 51 episodes. We’ll never see the whole series in one semester unless we pretty much spend the whole time every meeting watching that one anime [which we did]. And it’s going to start on Cartoon Network soon anyway.” But, in retrospect, I’m glad FMA was chosen. That was great. I’m now watching it again on Cartoon Network and picking up on some things I missed the first time around.
EDIT And now, I think I finally fixed all the errors I made when I first wrote that message *looks at Ameria’s Writing Stick in his hand* now forgive me while I go whack myself in the head >.>;;
