A Quick Composition
« on: December 14, 2004, 01:00:54 AM »
Kim got me back in the spirit of meddling with my trial Midi Maker program, so in a fit of boredom and inspiration (what a combo) I whipped out this strange little number which I like to call "Giustizia Grandiosa", or "Magnificent Justice". It's pretty much a short yet still unfinished work with three parts that are supposed to symbolize a road that just people take.

http://members.aol.com/seirunnoameria/giustiziagrandiosa.mid

The first part is slower but forceful, expressing determination in a cause. The second is the start of the "battle" against injustice, and the third is the triumph and the steady increase of parts (people) as well as volume (strength of the cause).

....Yes, I doubt anyone will hear that in this little diddy, but you'd be amazed what runs through my head in the early morning. XD And like I said it's unfinished. Steve said he'd tweak around with the bass line sometime so I'm excited to see how that'll turn out. ^^ No rush, of course! ^_^\\// Victory!

I like it...after I read your explanation, if I listened to it with my eyes closed, I could picture you rushing off to battle, sword drawn, banner flying, fighting for justice.

XD Haha, glad to hear it, Miyu. I guess I should rename it "Ameria no Teema". ..Except Ameria doesn't use swords. *nodnod*

I can definately hear the three parts determination, battle, and triumph. Very nice. I was picturinng it as the soundtrack to the trailor of some new anime with a guy with big sowrds big sweeping landscape shots and wide shots of battle seqquences and the like. hmm... ANYWAY. my only complaints would be that 1) the bass line in the battlee section needs to be elaboprated on, but you said someone is working on that so cool and 2) the transition from the battle to triumph sections should probably be made a little smoother, but thats just my opinion. Can't wait to hear it when its done. Someone shoudl orchestrate iot. I was imagining trumpet fanfares in the begining then fast strings with pizzcatto in the bass foor the battle section with the fanfare continued over top, and ending with pretty sounding woodwind and string section... um anyway i got carried away  :? very nice

Hmmm... wish I could help Venus but I don’t know much about these things...

Actually, that sounded pretty complex (read: not easy to make) to me.  Of course that’s coming from a know-nothing who has never composed himself...
Well anyway, I really liked it.  Sorry, I can’t give you anything more than that.  I racked my brain for almost an hour trying to figure out why it worked well, and I came up with nothing.

Oh, by the way, Graceria said her program is called Anvil Studio.  What’s your’s, Ameria-chan?

X.x;; Eep. I dunno why it won't work for you, Venus.. And thanks everyone. ^^ Still a work in progress. And Red, I've been using a trial version of a program called Midi Maker. Easily downloaded and pretty simple to use, though it doesn't give you many options. ^_^; I don't care though, because it's free. XD

I'll figure something out, don't worry. It's just that my machine is a piece of junk. I'll try opening it through my own MIDI program and see if that works.

Edit: yes! It works! It's cute; seemed like those steady eighth notes were gonna drag on forever, though.

*Ultra super glomps*

That is AWESOME! I love it. When I get home I'll have to download that on DIAL UP and put it in my favorites music list.

Ah, sorry! That's my fault, I deleted that screenname and thus the FTP space. ^^; *changes, though she hasn't even touched the piece and it isn't very good anyway* XD
