If there was a holiday celebrating anime and manga.....

If there was a holiday to celebrate anime and manga in the US, what would it be called? And how would you celebrate it? What would it's traditions be?

I would call it "Anime and Manga Day" (lame, I know) and I would celebrate it by immersing myself in anime as much as possible! The first tradition would be to sleep the night before on a Japanese bed (shikibuton). Okay, get the idea? Can anyone come up with something to add?

Well, let's see... Ctrl+Alt+Del gave us Winter-een-mas, Homestar & Co. gave us Decemberween.... So I'm thinking we should steer clear of winter-and-"een"-themed names. And it should be in late April/early May, when the sakura are all blooming and pink and happy. Like... Sakuranimanga. No "day" at the end; just a simple word like Halloween, Passover, Thanksgiving, what have you. Sakuranimanga!!

And we'd celebrate by reading manga and watching anime and going "oooh" as the sakura petals fall and make a pretty pink "snow" but we'd keep Kreg away from them... *snickerfit* And you know what, Kim? Let's take your idea and run with it. Let's do EVERYTHING traditional-Japanese-style for two days. Because it's too special to only be one day.

Oooh, I'm already excited! Too bad it's still half the year away! T_T

for me every friday is like a holeday for anime or manga i call it Hall High Anime lover's club! lol thats what we do most of the time and i joined last year first day! it's been a year sence i have joined! Whoot! go High School Anime Clubs!

And on Sakuranimanga (wow that's a fun name), we shall all cosplay. Because cosplaying is just too fun. And Halloween only comes once a year. And if Sakuranimanga is two days, then that means TWO TIMES THE FUN!!! Or, you can choose either the yukatas and footy-socks, or cosplaying.

There should also be a festival on one of the days. Like, one day is dedicated to staying and watching anime and reading manga all day, and the next day we all go to a traditional Japanese festival. WE COULD HAVE GOLDFISH SCOOPING!!!! YEEE!!! (I've always wanted to do that!!! I know it sounds lame, but ever since I saw that one episode of Sailor Moon S when Chibi-Usa came back and they did goldfish scooping, I've wanted to do it)
