In need of anime music suggestions
« on: May 27, 2004, 10:35:31 AM »
Hey everyone, my band is in need of some suggestions.  we keep getting booked for anime cons so we figure WE NEED SOME MORE ANIME MUSIC.  So far I do a cello duet with the piano (Adesso e Fortuna from Record of Lodoss War), and we do Naruto's Wind Theme.  We are also in the process of learning Totoro.  However, our violin player would like to sing more so if anyone knows of some male vocal pieces that are good could you guys make some suggestions? also I'm still in need for a good anime/video game song that could be turned into a cello solo.  Thanks everyone

ur violinist can sing ne song, even if its a female part.  just have him sing it down an octave or 2.  when i sing songs that 2 performed by guys, i sing it up an octave, so its not 2 hard.

Sleepless Beauty from Gravitation!!!! Sacred Air Mix! Your violin player could sing like Ryuichi does in the episode it's played in!  XD That and you guys would get a stampede of fangirls.

How about some of the Pillows' stuff from FLCL? I can list at least six songs that I'd love to hear. ^_^

Pillows is good!! And Change the World!

...Gravitation is shounen-ai (clean), not yaoi (graphic). And what's wrong with that anyway? It's just the music! And the music in Gravi is amazing because Daisuke Asakura composed it. *nodnod*

Well I"m not familiar with Asakura, but I he just said he doesn't want to sing anything from a Yaoi, or graphic anime I guess.  But either way if it's clean I don't see what's wrong with it either.  Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone who watches Yaoi or anything

Shounen-ai is just sweet stuff, no worries there, and the music's great! Please consider Sleepless Beauty, I guarantee it'll be a hit. ^_^

They have all 3 mixes here: http://www.nittlegrasper.com/nittles/gravitation_nittles_music2.shtml

The Sacred Air mix is probably the best for you guys, though.

Man the slow version didn't have lyrics, i think if we do it, we'll have to write a totally new arranged piece and by "we" i mean Kanako Sueyoshi
but i'll see if our violin player wants to do it

In the slow version in the show you just hear Ryuichi singing along to the first verse or so a couple times like "Ima mo todokanu, hikari no yukue, azayaka ni mau....omoi o egakou...Michibiku, kotoba wa, koboete, shimawaru you ni...utsuru toki o...osorenaide~....Todokanu hikari..." and then the music takes over. ^^ If he could do that, there would be girls screaming their heads off. XD Hm..On Kazaa you might be able to find that version called "Zapp Tokyo" or "Zapp Tokyo Concert" or something along those lines.

In fact, I just finished a new piece that I think would be perfect for your band.  The title is Cruel Angel's Thesis, it's the opening to Evangelion.
