Wow... I left this hanging, didn't I? Well, Winry-chan is 3 1/2 months old now and getting really BIG! She's.... well, in a word, fat. But it's all baby fat and that Doctor says her weight isn't abnormal for a baby that weighed 8lbs 5oz at birth. I'm not sure exactly what her weight is at this point since our postal scale broke but, at last weighing, she was 19 1/2lbs... which was 1 month ago. She'll slim down once she starts crawling and walking. We may not have long to wait, either. She's already standing for about 1 second at a time if we hold her up and then let her go for a sec. Don't worry. I'd never let her fall. ^_^ She also has had complete control over her neck and head since she was 1 month old, which comes as no surprise to anyone who was there when she was born. She was able to lift her head almost the moment she came out. She also was able to push herself up a bit with her arms and held a bottle the day after she was born. (Although she won't drink from one)
Winry's newborn hair has fallen out and her permanent hair is coming in. In case anyone here doesn't know, babies are born with incredibly soft, downey hair which, sadly, falls out over the first few months of life as the baby's permanent hair comes in. The color of the permanent hair is usually darker than the newborn hair but, in some cases, it's lighter. Winry wound up being one of the exceptions. Her hair has lightened to a pale blonde.
We took Winry with us to Anime Boston when she was 1 month old. (Don't worry, I took precautions to keep her safe.) We stayed in the hotel except for when I was in the masq and during my panel. She slept most of the time we were there. I didn't dress her up since I hadn't had time to make her a costume. We plan on going to NEFE in the fall and I hope to dress her up. I'm torn on wether to dress her up as Winry or Alphonse, though. There's a slim chance my husband may go with us as Hoenheim and, if he does, I may go with the Alphonse costume so we can do the family portrait pose.
