New FMA Series
« on: September 20, 2008, 10:20:33 AM »
Has anyone here heard about this? They haven't really said much about it, but there has been lots of speculation. All they told us so far is that a new series is being animated. They haven't said if it will be a sequel to the anime or an all new series that follows the manga storyline or something else entirely. Personally, I'm excited either way. ^_^ I loved FMA and I have complete faith in BONES (the studio making it) that they will do another phenominal job whatever they decide to do with it. What do you guys think?

I think of the thought process behind bones was
"Gentleman, do you like money?"
"murmers of yes"
"Well apparently full metal alchemist makes a lot of money"
"murmers of yeah that's true."
"So let's just make more of that."

Don't get me wrong I love the series too but I mean there is definitely a line where series should just stop. Like Bleach (Dunno why I'm still watching) or Zero no Tsukaima (Which can never have a real ending)

I mean I enjoy Bones they do good stuff Soul Eater is amazing, and I'm really enjoying Xam'd Lost Memories this season, I don't see why they need to make more of the same.

Will I still watch it, yes. Will I feel that at ever second I am being trolled by Bones, yes.

I've heard it will be following the manga but how they go about doing that is something I haven't heard (IE parallel, start off on a branch somewhere of the story)

I heard about this as well and I'm pretty certain they'll do it following the manga considering how different the manga is and how popular it is.

I will be watching this (and enjoying it when it happens) but there are a few things that'll be odd. Such as

If they make a new series entirely, certain people will have watched the first and not the second or the other way around and it might be a bit confusing.

While the subs weren't bad the dubs for this were sooooooo much better. Which brings up Aaron Dismuke (voice of Al), he is no longer the right age and his voice is different now so they'd have to pick a different voice acotr most likely when they do do the dubs which will be odd for people that watched it before.

But, I am still happy for this and I can't wait for it to come out.

And yes Bones wants more money, then again, who doesn't.

I am semi curious as to how it will turn out. I am hoping it will be just as good as it has been up till now, which may be hard to do considering that it was really well done, but I have faith. Now I am wondering though, does anyone know if they will incorporate the movie in there or not? I have heard that is being based on the manga moreso than anything else but I didn't know for sure. I would assume they wouldn't because not everyone saw the movie and it may be hard to follow it, but does anyone know and can tell me for sure?

there are some torrents up on fansub.com of the trailers, kinda confusing, they are bringing alphonse in the armor back, so it's either a time warp, or alternate reality

I believe they're just doing it from the manga. The manga is very popular and is also very very different from the anime. (So Al is still in the armor) At about episode 25 is where the manga changes a lot. I read the manga online (so I'm up to date) and there really isn't a way that the movie would fit in if they're doing the manga. The episodes start coming out in April I believe so we'll just have to wait and see.
