The Sword of Truth
« on: September 20, 2007, 04:22:57 PM »
I very rarely come across a fellow Sword of Truth fan. Most people just smile and nod when I go off on a rant about how incredible this series is. But let me tell you, if you haven’t checked out The Sword of Truth yet, go to a bookstore today and pick up “Wizard’s First Rule”. That’s book 1 in the series, and it’s the second best book I’ve ever read in my life—second only to “Faith of the Fallen”, which is book 6 of the same series.

I’m starting on book 9 now, and I’m way behind. Book 10 is already out, I need to catch up!

You know, I've always meant to read Terry Goodkind - but I never got around to it.  Which is odd, considering that Mercedes Lackey is my favorite author and she has spoken praise of his work before.  Thanks for giving it a high praise - I could always use a new series to get addicted to now that Lackey isn't writing her Velgarth series.  :)

Hehe rabid fan of his books. Though I haven't read phantom yet because I lack funds. I read the entire series from a friend and yeah it’s like my favorite fantasy series of that kind. (You know the generic fantasy not the other kinds (if that makes any sense))

Personally I like book one the best still to this day. I mean not to say I view the series as going downhill it’s just that first bit of the world was so well epic. Hmm I wonder if my library would have it. Sad thing about a library in a school like this it’s all engineering stuff don’t know though

Though I still have to finish Pendragon 8. My mum finished it over the summer after we got her started on that series and she’s been dying to talk about it without spoilers.

GAH! I was in a bookstore yesterday and I stumbled across Goodkind's work but I couldn't remember the title of this one for the LIFE of me. I just stood there, staring at them all, but nothing sounded familiar, and I'm pretty sure I saw a few copies of The Sword of Truth there, too. T_T Okay, now that I made the mistake, I can't forget it. NEXT TIME! :::holds up fist in determination:::

Sword of Truth? *poke poke* What's it about? It's sounds awesome. I've run out of stuff to read, so any recomendation is very much appreciated!

I will try to look out for that series of books. I lack funds and as of now have not heard of this series but I shall now keep and eye out when I stop being poor. ^_^

I was in a bookstore last week and finally picked up the first book in the series (cuz, see, I thought the book was called The Sword of Truth, not the series. I learned my lesson when I found a boxed set). I devoured it; I was hooked from the first stupid paragraph. XD It was amazing, and so terribly well-written. The descriptions weren't too much, the characters weren't super-aware, and the pacing was amazing, so fluid and natural.

Read it!

I know I'm like damn it's over what can i read now? I decidedly to pick up the Ender series, Dresden files, and the Farseer trilogy at the same time. I told my mum about the series since she enjoys fantasy and i think i gave her the first book as an xmas present. In which she bought all but the two books of the series i owned and read such books within two months. She also is asking me to suggest something like Sword of Truth to read only to find i can't think of something on that scale

Augh! The ending of Chainfire! I mean, I figured it out -- thanks to the name of the next book in the series -- but augh! I don't have the next book, and it's a while before I can get to the bookstore! :::rips out hair:::

I know but Legend of the Seeker? Wth.

And after seeing trailer(s) I find the characters looking very unlike how I pictured them. Like Zedd looks like a women...

I dunno I may watch it.

I know, I know, but don't judge a book by its cover. The actors look nothing how I pictured the characters, either, but that shouldn't matter.
