Anyway, I created this thread for fans of my absolute favorite RPG of all time, Final Fantasy VI.  Why?  My reasoning is simple...

BECAUSE I WANNA!  >D 

But, seriously, this game is absolutely phenominal.  I've played it over 100 times, and I still have yet to get tired of it.

Easily one of my favorite games in my collection of games, too!!    When I first played it, I was gushing about it for WEEKS.

Totally fell in love with Locke, and Celes has got to be my favorite leading lady of all the FF ladies in my book.  ^_^ 

And the opera scene...?  I always love it when a game has a real shining sequence in it that is really fun and memorable to play, and between getting Celes' lyrics right, and fighting Umaro, the opera scene was one of those shining sequences, and then some!

Kuro - YES!  Locke is love.  And I was always more for Terra as a leading lady than Celes.  Celes is awesome in her own ways, too, though.  Bah, I can't choose  >w<  I only love Terra a wee bit more b/c she's a summoner-type by birth.  I loves me t3h summoner/caller types.  *Squees*

Orna: Yes, play it. XD Twelve PCs (and more) may seem like a lot, but it's cool because there are several points in the plot where you have to split up into teams and do battle that way. I always thought that aspect was really cool and fun, and was slightly disappointed that it wasn't ever used again. Not to mention every last one of those PCs is memorable, if you couldn't tell from my pile of quotes up there.

Kuro: fighting WHO in the opera house? XD The opera (and surrounding scenes) is fantastic. My favorite part, because it never fails to send a shiver down my spine, is when Celes throws the flowers off the balcony. "We must part now/my life goes on/but my heart/won't give you up." GAH! Although, I'm not sure what my favorite part overall is. (I can tell you the part I hate the most is the Floating Continent because I NEVER fail to get lost up there!)

I would LOVE to see a cosplay group (or maybe serious actors, lol) perform the whole opera, though. That'd be amazing.

Tifa, my love: I go for Dragoon class, and I guess that would be Edgar, kinda, if you give him the Dragoon Boots. I love me some Sabin, though, for the quote I listed and because Bum Rush wins. Pyuu pyuu pyuu pyuu!! XD Because I'm a sucker for their stories, I also love Terra, Celes, and, duh, Locke. But you can't have five people in a party! Oh, dilemma, who to exclude!

You can't split up the twins, and you can't split up Locke and Celes, either. But you can't leave Terra out because, I don't care what anyone says, she's the main character. AHHH :::rips hair out:::

And I originally had the squidball quote up there (because it's my favorite thing that Locke ever said), but I opted for the treasure hunter one because it was a little more appropriate to his character.

It was for SNES originally, but they redid it for PS.... but it doesn't matter. I have a ROM and an emulator I can e-mail you. SAVE STATES!

I loved this game as well! I am a huge fan of the FF games in general but this was definitely one of my favorites! I love Locke and Ceres, they are some of the best characters of all time! Also, as someone said earlier the opera scene was definitely memorable and goes down as one of the best scenes in FF history.

The emulator is a program that mimics (or emulates, lol) old game consoles or handhelds, allowing you to play old games on your computer. The ROMs are the files for the emulator that house the gaming information. So a SNES emulator will host the FF6 ROM.

Emulators allow for "save states," which I think is the greatest thing they can do. With a couple of keystrokes, you can save your game anytime and anywhere, without having to be at an in-game save point. You can also go back to the *exact* place where you saved at any time, even years later. No more of this "save-just-before-the-final-boss-but-you-still-gotta-hear-him-rant-for-ten-minutes" nonsense.

The emulator I have is only PC; there exists one for Mac, I'm sure.
