My Obsession Manga.
« on: August 25, 2007, 04:01:52 AM »
If you've read my introduction you know by now that I am a complete manga junkie. I'm addicted to the stuff. So I thought I'd list a few of my favorites.

Immortal Rain- I'm so obsessed with this one. I sob at the sad parts.
W Juliet- Seriously...who needs to know why I love it? Everyone does.
The Wallflower- Who could resist Sunako-chan with her horror slasher films.
Inu Yasha- Anything by Rumiko Takahashi is good.
Fushigi Yugi- Miaka is an adorable glutton.
Sensual Phrase- Gahhh...so many twists and turns in a relationship.
From Far Away- Sniffle. Noriko is so cute. I just want to squeeze her.
Ghost Hunt- Well seriously...it's a mystery.

I do like lots of others, but these are my reigning favorites. I must buy the rest of the Fushigi Yugi series...hrm...time for another trip to JM.

I'd have to agree completely on that, Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres are amazing! Inuyasha is always good as well.

Yay! I love Immortal Rain! but they have been coming out so slowly that it makes me sad. From Far Away was really good too. I wish there would have been more volumes though.

I can never choose my favorite. I like them all. The same applies to music and movies. But I have to admit, my favorite movies include Equilibrium, House of the Flying Daggers, and Curse of the Golden Flower. (And of course Advent Children.)

Fushigi Yuugi is love  <3  I actually am liking Genbu Kaiden more, though.

My guilty obsession is/was (because its ended now... *Tear*) Angel Sanctuary.  That series is sooooo freaking amazing.
And Mermaid Saga by Rumiko Takahashi.  Its short (only 4 volumes long), but awesomely awesome.  Then again, what else is to be expected of Takahashi-sensei?

A painfully long series that just doesn't wanna end? I'm looking at YOU, Inuyasha!

'Looking at you,' reminds me of an online cartoon by Joseph Blanchette. It's a spoof of Final Fantasy where Cloud is learning all about random battles. The narrator has a line that goes something like this: 'But sometimes phoenix downs don't work. Hmmm, yes, I'm looking at you, Aeris.'

Speaking of Inuyasha..did that series end yet? The manga or the tv series? I know the tv series no longer is playing in the U.S. but I refuse to believe the way it ended here was the way the series actually ended....

I think the tv series ended after the third season there are also four movies (I believe). The manga, however, is still being released so far as I know. One of my friend's and I collect it.

I have seen all of the movies and the tv series as far as it goes here. The movies did a pretty good job of putting things together but the way the series ended was not fullfilling enough for me. ( I guess most animes and video game endings aren't very satisfying) but I just wish it would have ended better. And a random thought I had I think some anime should try and incorporate the movies along with the series, I think it would help move some series' along better.

No, its still going strong over in Japan (in the manga).  The anime is done and over with (thank GOD!).  I loved that series until it got ridiculous...after the second season.

I'm pretty sure that the anime ended at the equivalent of the manga volume 36 or 37.  The manga seems like it will go forever!  I still wish Ranma 1/2 wouldn't have ended.

Actually, yes, that's where I stole the reference from. Good job! ^_^ (There was NOT ENOUGH CID in that cartoon.)
