3 was amazing, i loved the aspect of playing from 4 (badguys included) different aspects of the same story, you really get a feel and understanding of who the characters are and why they do what they do.  However those who have 1 & 2 claim that they are even better, which is quite intriguing. Sadly, 4 did not grip me at all. 5 However shows good promise, I'm a bit o ways through it now, yet i have trouble picking it back up, but i seem to be that way with all rpgs lately.

Out of all the ones I have played the first two suikoden games are amazing, especially if you consider the fact that they are playstation games and not playstation2. I think I like 1&2 better because they play differently than 3 does. You don't go through everyone's story like you do in 3, which is a cool aspect too... but in 1 and 2 you get to be the main hero, and there's one defined hero (in 3 you choose the flame champion). The games are all linked together, so when I named my castle banana (randomly) in suikoden, in suikoden II it became a past tense of them talking about the wars in the banana republic. I  like how what you do in the first game can affect the next game in the series. Like saving certain people in game one (or failing to save them) gives you different things in game 2. In game 1 you had the hero and trying to gather all your forces and in game 2 you had betrayal and two intertwined destinies and two different paths that the hero and his best friend would take to lead to one goal of peace...

Of course, in suikoden 1 and 2 you still lead armies in battles that remind me a little bit of final fantasy tactics. But other than that, I thought it was the most fun to play the iron chef tournaments inside my own castle and to try and get all the characters as quick as possible. Oh, and money was super easy to come by when I got my castle and recruited my sailor friends, they're in to a dice game called chinchiron (I know I probably spelled it wrong).

There were a lot of things about suikoden 1 and 2 I liked, and since I haven't finished suikoden 3 yet, I can't really say about the quality of it. It does have some annoying parts though. But as always the character designs for suikoden were stunning in 3. And of course you see some of the same characters from 1 and 2 popping up in 3, which in normal human life would be impossible... good thing they have true runes to make them immortal! YAY!

Sorry, randomness.

whee I'm tired. Goodnight.
