well, we all love video games here, but ofcourse its hard to play them all. but for the ones we do play, how about we make a list of those very very great moments.......

i'll start it off..(well, duh..lol)..

i say one that was really amazing was during Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater..

for those that have played it, it's when he just got his pride handed to him and beaten to a bloody pulp. and right after that moment once you escape, you eventually have to climb this very.......vvvvvveeeerrrryyyy long ladder........but it's great because at that moment the Acoustic Version of the opening Song.."Snake Eater", begins playing. and.........(tear)....the more you climb, the louder the song gets, and the more heroic you start to feel playing a black, and blue, and bruised, and bloody, and taped up snake..........who's missing one damn eye.........

(tear, tear, tear).............that's a Video Game Moment!

As the resident Zeldaphile, I have to post two moments from the Zelda series that I LOVE. Surprisingly, neither of them are from my favorite or "everybody's" favorite. SPOILERS APLENTY.

The first is from Wind Waker, at the end. Link makes his way to Ganondorf, and Zelda's there all sleeping and then Gannie goes into his Obligatory Final Boss Speechâ„¢. He goes on about how Hyrule got to be the way it is, and says, "Don't you see? All of you...

Your gods destroyed you!"

It's a very awesome moment, and in the final final battle, Link makes a great "WTF?!" face.

***

The second is from Majora's Mask. The most involved (and arguably best) sidequest of the game is the Anju-Kafei sequence. You need all three days to do this, but you help a lot of people and get a couple of masks. At the very end, when Anju and Kafei are finally reunited in Stock Pot Inn, with an HOUR to go before the moon crashes, they kneel on the floor, hugging each other, and staring at Link. They're about to die and all that matters is that they've finally found each other. Link has (almost) no choice, but to leave them, go back in time three days and pretend it never happened. It's sadder than not reuniting them to begin with; it was the first and only Zelda moment to ever make me cry.

Hmm... let's see... what are a few I can think of...

*(SPOILER)Well, for those few of you who may have played "Gunstar Heroes", I belive that part when they kidnap Yellow is pretty... uh... plot-twist like I suppose... especially since you have to give up all the gems you collected so far in return for her

*Oh! This may be an odd one, but the last boss fight of Jet Set Radio Future is sorta Trippy...

*In Halo, when the librairian and Cortana are argueing XD I just found that scene entertaining

*(SPOILER)When Zelos dies in Tales of Symphonia! Oh snap! Depending on what ending you obtain... I believe this is the same ending that Kratos joins back with you.

*(SPOILER)Sonic Adventure, when fighting perfect chaos! That is actually a pretty fun boss fight, though also just as easy. I liked the whole "negative and positive" charges thing though.

...one seems counterproductive to the other.

Tales of Symphonia (***Spoilers***): For me, I thought one of the best parts in this game is when you're going through that one dungeon towards the end (the one right after you beat Zelos) and your party members sacrifice themselves one by one so you can go onward and save Colette.  Some of the speeches they give were really heart-warming/wrenching

Final Fantasy 6 (***Spoilers***):  When Kefka splits up the statues and causes the destruction of the world

Spoilers! I have two of my most favorite video game moments..

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time: The ending in this game really got to me. I loved how it ended except that Link had to go to back to being a little kid after everything he went through with Zelda, ect. It made me sad that he had to go back to that..I can never remember if he got to keep his memories of the events or not, its been a long time since I beat it.

Final Fantasy VIII: The whole Raine and Laguna scenario. It was good that they got to be happy, but then Raine ends up dying! It made me sad that she had to die and didn't get to see that her son grew up and saved everyone!
Kenshin Himura: If you require an opponent, I will fight you. If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack me.- Rurouni Kenshin

Heero Yuy: [Heero is walking, stops beside Relena] I'll kill you...
[continues walking]-Gundam Wing

I don't believe that Link got to keep his memories of the future, because Zelda says to him to live his life as he should have.. but I mean, he has Epona and the Kokiri Sword so I'm not 100% sure..

FFVIII is my all time favorite game.

Edt: BLARGH. Curse my misreading. I DO agree with you; Link doesn't keep any of his memories from the future. Yes, he keeps the Ocarina of Time, but I'm pretty sure he just borrows Epona from Lon Lon (with regular visits to keep everyone happy, even though Hyrule's become a very scary place to live. And then not at all after a while when Ingo starts being a jerk), but if you look closely, the Kokiri Sword that he carries in Majora's Mask is completely different from the one he carries in Ocarina of Time, from hilt to blade.

(Wanna know something funny? I didn't see the "don't" in your post, so I played through the end of OoT and the beginning of MM just to get evidence to back up the essay that I wrote explaining why Link doesn't get to keep his memories. That's two hours of my life I'll never get back....)

First time I played through, I reset the game and re-watched that scene.

I go back to the theater in Luca and watch that over and over again.  It makes me cry.

I recently picked up the PS2 game "Castlevania: Lament of Innocence", and I thought that had a really cool ending since it explains how the Belmont-Dracula battles all started.
