Take lessons!  :D ^_^

No, seriously...it's the best way.  That, and practice.  A LOT.

Well, Dhsu, I've taken lessons before, and they certainly help, but I haven't sung for quite some time.  Any tips on getting back in shape?

Also, any suggestions for songs for a Soprano 2 to sing?  Something fairly operatic, I guess, because I like singing in Latin, and those songs are fairly operatic.  (haha, I have bad grammer)

Urr.  I'd send a voice sample, but my microphone's bitchy.

Soprano 2...? Uh....Kirie is pretty and Latin. Caro mio ben....is Italian and alto1/soprano2. That's all I know songwise I'm soprano 1....
As for staying in singing shape....(This is gonna sound dumb)... do breathing exercises. You don't even have to be singing while doing them. It helps not sounding breathy and not fading out or going flat halfway through the piece.
So you could go anywhere and do the breathing thing....sit in an airport doing breathing exercises....just don't do it too loudly...people will think your hyperventilating....then you can fake a heart attack....

XD I hyperventilated in a hospital once!  Now this is a story I can share.

Okay, so during my freshman year, I was getting really really stressed out and depressed, so eventually, this stress made a swelling in the back of my brain.  This affected my balance, and I couldn't walk right and couldn't go to school for three weeks.  I had to go to all of these doctors to see what I had, because nobody knew.  Eventually, they stuck me in the ICU of the hospital, because they thought it was a tumor.  Now, I hate hospitals, and I hate cities, so I was totally freaking out.  I was crying and hyperventilating, and they ended up having to give me sedatives.  XD  That's my story.  I got better though, as you can see ^_^

Anyway... back to singing. XD  Thanks for the tips, CHU!  ^^  One thing I forgot to mention though...  anime or game music please.  Sorry!  That was my fault!  @_@  I'll still check out your songs though, I bet they're real pretty!  ^_^

(Soprano 2? or am I 1? I don't remember, lol) Hm, I'm not sure if it'll work, and it isn't nessasairily latin but... "Green Bird" from Cowboy Bebop? Get a friend and sing it together? It's a real fun song to sing. n_n And it's really hauntingly pretty. Sephiroth's "One Winged Angel" theme is in latin!! XD

Are there lyrics to Green Bird anywhere?  Does it even have words?  @_@  And where can I get the karaoke version?  So many questions!

Lyrics available at: http://www.animelyrics.com  lol. Just search for Cowboy Bebop under the Anime section and it'll be there.

Breathing's definitely big, but also remember to have good posture (chin up, feet shoulder-length apart, knees bent, not tense). That will help with the breathing! Hehe, my HS director made us go through the motions every day so I can remember them. ^_^

Well if you DO get lessons, do NOT get an operetic teacher. Y'know what I'm talking about ... the whole mouth open like a circle way too much so you sound like you're singing a pseudo-aria. I used to have one (hmm since Sixth grade) but recently, I've changed to a person who believes in just singing naturally (with correct pronunciation of course) which I switched to in the beginning of 10th grade. I think that Anime/Game music is so beautiful because it sounds like they're singing with their soul ... and singing an operetic-fake tone is NOT something that is very convincing when it comes to these soul-ful pieces.

Breathing is huge, sure, but so is pitch! I would suggest that you have a basic feel for sightreading so that you can punch out notes on a piano or something just to get a feel for the pitch. :-) And also, be enthusiastic! That always helps juuuuust a bit! Also, I would suggest getting someone who could back you up with a piano ... or some kind of string instrument. That always makes it sound so loooovely. :-) Hey, if you ever have any samples I'd love to hear 'em too!

Well, enough of my suggestions. :-)
