So, two of the Piano Squall forum members (Warky and myself) were able to attend Con-nichiwa in Tucson, AZ from March 25-27. Warky put on a keyboard concert and also held a few panels, my favorite being the para para dance panel.
I was in the audience for most events of the con, but... I did get on stage and perform a skit during the masquerade. I don't know if anyone in the audience recorded it, but... here's how it went:
Shingami-sama: [walks onto stage and begins speech] Hello Con-nichiwa! It's Shinigami-sama, from the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where we have the best shinigamis in the world! ... What?
Byakuya Kuchiki: [walks onto stage beside Shinigami-sama] As a shinigami of the Soul Society, I beg to differ with that.
Shinigami-sama: Oh, it's you... Well, what makes you so good?
Byakuya Kuchiki: We banish evil spirits.
Shinigami-sama: Well so do we, and we do it with style! [short dance to the a clip of the Soul Eater opening song]
Byakuya Kuchiki: [shakes head, holds up hand and music stops to the sound of a record scratch] So, you think we aren't stylish?
Shinigami-sama: Well look at you, you shinigamis are all dressed the same!
Byakuya Kuchiki: Well, if you're so good, how come your show was never aired on American TV?
Shinigami-sama: Oh, low blow... But I can give some blows of my own!
Byakuya Kuchiki: [unsheathes sword] Fine with me.
Shinigami-sama: [chops with hand] Shinigami-chop!
Byakuya Kuchiki: [blocks with sword and slides back]
Shinigami-sama: Not bad, you're right up there with Ryuk and Rem.
Byakuya Kuchiki: The shinigami from Death Note? They don't even fight, they just write down names in their notebooks.
Shinigami-sama: You know, you're right. Let's stop fighting each other and get those guys.
Byakuya Kuchiki: Good idea. [both exit stage]
