Thank You Tekkoshocon!
« on: April 02, 2006, 01:42:45 AM »
Dear Tekkoshocon Attendees,

Thank you for attending my concert at Tekkoshocon this weekend.  This has been my third year performing at Tekkoshocon, and once again, it has been an honor to share music with you.  We filled the main events room to capacity, and as I had the opportunity to meet everyone in the audience after the concert, I recognized so many of you that were attending for a second or third time.  To those of you who have returned to see me perform once again, please know that your support really means everything to me.  And to those who I had the privilege of meeting for the first time, it has been an honor to perform for you, and I hope to have the opportunity once again at Tekkoshocon 2007!

Please visit the Downloads section, where you can find live concert video footage and recordings in MP3 format.  I have also taken the time to write down my original arrangements for you, and a MIDI is included with the sheet music for each piece.  I continue to update the site with new footage, new recordings, and new arrangements as they become available.  There is never any charge, please feel free to download and enjoy as much as you like.

And finally, a very special welcome the newest members of our forum family joining us from Sakura-con!  We are proud to have one of the most tight-knit, friendly communities on the internet.  By organizing large forum get-togethers at conventions, online voice chats, and instant messenger discussions, our forums has evolved into a family of friends united by a common love of game and anime music.  Let me be the first to welcome the attendees of Tekkoshocon, and to our veteran members, please show them the strength of our Piano Squall forum love!  ^_^

Thank you Mike :-).  Your show was awesome as always.  The new FF battle arraignment is just insane, and playing the xenogears town theme and Time's scar was awesome.  It was also nice talking to you after the show, I'm hoping that that conversation spurs Lisa a little bit in pursuing her dream of being in the video game industry.  Can't wait to see your next show, and hope to see ya at Tekko again next year!
Love and peace...

No, Mike.. thank YOU! You were amazing. =) Thank you so much for giving Greg and me front row seats! For a second I thought we were going to get the boot from that lady in the chair, I'm so glad you showed up! Hahaha =P If looks could kill we might have been dead. But thankfully, we weren't. =) Although I'm almost dead now after getting back home at 2 AM only to find out it's ACTUALLY 3 am. Ack! (curse you, spring forward!!)

Anyway, your performance was AMAZING! Thank you so much for playing that Xenogears music specially for my brother and myself, your arrangement was beautiful! I told you that already, but I'll say it again. I was gettin' chills the whole time. +) I loooooooove that game. Too bad it had to be last year I cosplayed Billy when you played so much FF7 music, and this year Cid when you played Xenogears. Blimey! Fortunately, my clothes didn't affect your performance. Good man!  :lol:

Thanks again for being there, and especially for still just being yourself, and not taking the celebrity-style stuck up attitude. It's awesome that people can just walk up to you and start talking. You're the bomb, mate.. I can't to see you perform again. Tekko '07, if all goes according to plan! :D

That was awesome. Sadly, I missed your performance last year at Tekko, but trust me, I watched Deathcom's video of it. I can't put into words how awesome you are, and the performance itself? :shock:

If you remember, I was talking to you in the bathroom for a minute right before the concert.

Thank you, Mike. Looking forward to Tekko '07 already!

Yes, it was good to see you once again.  Thanks for your informal performance on Friday evening, but of course the concert was the highlight of it all.  I still remember him saying something along the lines of "my love of game and anime music is matched only by my love of sharing it with you."  And of course "*microphone's cord falls off* Screw the mike!  Can everyone hear me?"
Sorry the Brothers theme song didn't go quite as you wanted (with vocal accompaniment), but it was still a very good song.  Your new battle medley and Dr. Wily theme were great, and Time's Scar will always be awesome.
I was dressed as Yue at the time, and I was throwing up my Kero Beros in celebration of the music (Yue and Kero Beros are from Cardcaptor Sakura AKA Cardcaptors).

the only thing i would have wanted, was a nice grand piano for PS. I was in 2nd row, good enough :) first row was reserved for minions!

hope to see you again soon!

I'm really glad everything seemed to go well. ^_^ I missed you guys, but AP was fun too, if fairly disorganized in some places. And somehow, for some reason, I can now answer 'yes' if someone asks me if I've ever shocked someone with a cattle prod. >_>;;

How was the cosplay at Anime Punch?  Ours flopped this year at only seven skit entries.  But the AMV contest was better than ever at 76 entries - had to cut some out of the main showing.

they always limit NDK to about 6-7 cosplay skits.
And Ameria...now you must tell!

We had 16 or so skits, but I didn't see a few of them since we were in it. Our One Piece LOST parody got Best of Show, and the other members of the RBG got Best Skit for theirs. ^_^ As for the shocking incident, I'll relay that later since I'm kinda busy at the moment. ^^;

POST FROM AMERIA-CHAN!!!!!
(she's been a bit busy so I'm relaying the message) Wark!

Ameria Says:
First things first. At AP, one of the anime game shows was an anime version of Distraction shown on Comedy Central, where you try to distract the contestants in any means possible to get them to not answer or answer incorrectly. One of the 'events' was to introduce all the contestants to one of the Staff members, show pics of his girlfriend, etc, and then when they answered a question, he would be shocked with a cattle prod. At closing ceremonies Sunday, they brought him back up and let him decide who should deliver a final shock to end the con. He decided that one of the people involved in the Best of Show cosplay skit from the masquerade should do it... Our big One Piece group won, but Zo Ra and I were the only ones left at closing ceremonies. Zo and Ra immediately pointed at me, so I had to do it. ^_^;;; I felt really bad.. I couldn't even do it until the third try, since the first time I was too hesitant to hold down the button, and then the second time I completely missed. He agreed to it, but still. ^^;;

Later on when almost everyone was gone and we were getting ready to leave, I passed him in the hall and apologized. It was kinda creepy. o.o;;
"I'm really sorry for earlier!"
"Huh? Oh. ...How old are you?"
"Um...20."
"No you're not."
...At that point, he tried to get me to take a big cup filled with red wine. o.o;;; He was also holding a bottle of it in the other hand.

Like Red Comet was saying, the cosplay was not the best I have seen, but there were still some good skits--the dancing Breetai comes to mind.  Hopefully, this will encourage some Tekko congoers to put more skits together for next year.

As for your cattle prod shocking Ameria-chan.......... :shock: :shock:----LOL!
