Adding to the list of people who saw this and I must agree the movie was very entertaining. First time seeing it last nite and I wasn't dissapointed at all. Unlike most movies these days

To those who liked the first battle royale movie I give you this warning

DON'T WATCH THE SEQUEL

The sequels plot is that Shuya has started a terrorist organization bent on getting back at the adults for their evil intentions. So the adults get the idea, why send adults to Shuya's island and fight him when we could send another batch of kids and kill (literally)  two birds with one stone. Except this time the kids are paired up and when your partner is killed your collar explodes. Sound Cool? Well it really isn't. They try to make a political statement (Maybe one about the terrorist attacks on America, I don't know there was two crumbling towers in the intro) but fails.

The sequel is nothing when compared to the original (But really which sequels are) If you insist on watching the second, I give you this piece of advice :Stop watching the movie once the collars start coming off because after that it is completely boring and drags on (The opposite of what battle royale is intended to be)

ahem, that kinda ruined it for me, since I haven't finished the first one yet, please tag spoilers ><;;

I loved the Battle Royale novel!  I also liked the manga because it added some depth and background to the story.  The movie wasn't too close to the book but I still enjoyed and it was entertaining.

*Giggleclaps*  Hooray, more BR fans.

I loved the novel, liked the first movie.

I have yet to read the manga....expensive to get every volume...

The plots were different between the novel and movie, but both were good.  The novel was more about the oppresiveness of the Japanese government supressing everything, while the movie focused more on kids rebelling.

It was interseting to see the differences between book and movie.  One of the things that I thought was interesting was that the movie didn't really get into the whole "freaky oppressive government controlling the whole country" thing

I recently finished the novel.  Before that, I'd seen the movie and then read the manga.  I liked all three forms of it.  Personally, I'm glad I saw the movie first.  I think I would've been disappointed in the movie if I had either read the manga or the book first, because of the stuff that was changed, or left out.  Out of the three, I did like the manga the best (I was able to share the cost with some friends, so it didn't cost me a fortune).  All three together do a decent job of telling the story.  They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but I heartily reccomend them to everyone (who isn't afraid of a little gore)
