I know there are a lot of really talented singers on this forum, so which game/anime songs do you like to sing most?

I was familiar with the Lunar songs awhile back, but I have kind of fallen off with singing in general over the past year or so. I just may hum a couple of tunes, but I suppose I can find a few lyrics online so I can start practicing again.

Um, I like to sing...Alot...All the time infact.
All I do is like, singing and drawing, that's depressing...but HEY! It's all cool.
As far as WHAT songs...Umm...Pretty much anything from any series or whatever...My favorites are things like; Naruto, D.N. Angel...All of that's really pretty, And I like super hyper bouncy things of DOOM...Like Love Hina or...Heck, any other Megumi Hayashibara...or Maaya Sakamoto...She does like...EVERYTHING.
There's also this one group...with the name (This is really dumb) *ahem*
Porno-Graffiti...I hate the name. Jigrish is bad....But their stuff is really cool
Aaaand, I'm gonna shut up, I'm borrowing my Dad's computer 'cause mine died...I said it would take like, two minutes....and it didn't.
yeah...okay so BYE!
 :shock:

Nothing but singing and drawing? Thats not depressing at all! All I have been doing lately is singing and killing. Lots and lots of slaughter, mostly innocent creatures too. Well, occasionally I take a not so innocent one, but usually its innocent little bunnies and plants...hehe...yes. Final fantasy XI, I will shamlessly market for them. Get the game, play it! And if you are going to, if you want to be on the same server as me, I will gladly attempt to find a world pass. But anyway, if all you do is sing and draw, and you like both of those activites, just enjoy it!

I will sing almost anything and everything when it comes to anime and game songs. If I find a song I really like, I'll play it over and over until I memorize it. I especially love challenging songs, like ones with fast lyrics. J-Rap can definitely be fun. ^_^ There were no lyrics available for the song "Shiroi Yami no Naka" from the Tainted Doughnuts music video, so I just listened to it repeatedly and wrote down what the lyrics sounded like to me, just so I could read them until I memorized it. I'm working on "Viva Rock" from Naruto right now.

GYAH! That's so cool! I'm also working on 'Viva Rock'! Duuuude....small world.... J-rap (or heck, ANY rap) isn't really my thing but 'Viva Rock' and the Dear Boys ending were both just soooooooo wierd that I HAD to know them. Y'know?
Ever get like that where you hear a song and like... MUST be learned and 'ya almost kill yourself staying up 'till four in the morning singing it?
yeeeaaaah...

WOO HOO! Yay for Viva Rock fans! And YES, I tend to get like that very frequently. XD As in "all the time".

Oh, Bluefire-san, there's so many suggestions! If you want to start easier I'd go for the anime songs in English and then swap to Japanese, like Duvet from Serial Experiments Lain, or Gravity from Wolf's Rain, and then there are so many good songs. Just pick an anime series you like, and if I know it I'll throw a few song suggestions your way. ^_^

I've sang since I was young, and since I learned about anime, I've been singing anime songs.  ^_^  I used to be pretty decent (I almost got into Chamber Singers, but I couldn't read music ^^;;;;;; ) but when I got to high school, the music program was very mixed up (changing teachers, and people getting put in choir courses who didn't sing and deteriorated from those who did, etc) and I just didn't know if I could put up with it in my school schedule either, so I stopped.  So my singing's gotten very breathy and kinda lame since then.  I guess I have a voice somewhere in there, it's just hidden since I haven't had voice lessons in a long time ^^;;

But back to the original topic!  My favorite songs to sing are from... surprise, surprise, Final Fantasy!  If not them, I like to stick with Latin hymns, because they're just so pretty!

Anyway, a question for Natalie!  I know you guys are performing at Anime Next 2004, and I saw you perform at AN03 (awesome, you guys.  I <3 your stuff.  congrats on a great job).  I saw your Suteki da ne skit, and I was so inspired  wanted to do one!  If I cosplayed Lenne and sang "real Emotion", would that be copying you too much?  I wanted to check with you first.  ^^;; Gosh, I feel like such a newb asking that ^^;;  Keep in mind, I'm not sure if I'll go yet, but when I know, I'll tell you.  I'm also not sure if I'll cosplay Lenne yet, but it would be nice to sing, and I sure can't have Samurai Rikku up there busting her guts out!  ^^;;  But is the idea okay with you?  If not, I've got other skit ideas, so don't feel bad telling me I'm trying to be like you guys too much ^^;;  Thanks a lot!  Hope to see you at Anime NEXT 2004!

Why do you even need to ask me that? :P I am not here to tell cosplayers what they can and can't do, lol. I think its a great idea for a skit, I hope I can see it while I am there.

Singing? Yay?
« Reply #12 on: January 27, 2004, 06:28:07 PM »
I come from a very musical family. My mom can't sing if her life depended on it, & my dad, who taught me to sing at a VERY VERY young age (even before school times O_o; ) is mildly decent. As for me, well, I don't like to judge myself (ppl might think I'm more conceited than they already thought I was nn; ) But, from what I've heard, people like what they hear when I sing.

As for J-Pop, J-Rock, Anime & Game themes...I'M CRAZY ABOUT EM! @_@ I've been learning them since I was in fourth grade, my first being the "Cruel Angel's Thesis" from Evangelion. My current favorites are "1000 Words" & "Real Emotion" from FFX-2, being that those are the most recent one's I've heard in a while. "Suteki Da Ne" always holds a dear place in my heart as well as all the Lunar songs. For Anime, the Escaflowne opening theme, (who's name just flew out of my head. Erk, brain-fart.) the Gundam Wing songs, Tenchi Muyo songs like "I'm A Pioneer" and "Lonely Moon," the "Cyborg 009" theme and a bunch of others.
J-pop, J-rock? I'm also a fan of ... (pauses and sweatdrops) Porno-Graffiti (I've just heard one song of theirs, really. From the Best of Japan 2002 CD), lol. Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, BoA, Do As Infinity, TWO MIX (yay!), heck, I'll listen to ANY song that's in Japanese and like it. I've given up english non anime/game music. lol.

You said that Tekkoshocon is going to be your first convention, right Lulu? You should prepare something involving singing for the cosplay, or at least sing something at the karaoke is they have any at Tekkoshocon. I used to do those all the time. Have you ever been in school choirs or anything? Or do you really do nothing but anime/game music? Hehe, thats really cool that you have been learning it for so long. I learn a lot of classical music (for my vocal performance major) and I did a lot of musical theatre in high school, but other than that I listen to mainly game/anime/j-pop music as well. ^^

Well, I've been a member of my high school chorus for this year, my second. I was in it all during middle school. I was called to sing once at a local mall (the Star Spangled Banner, ugh) and I've preformed in a few school musicals (though I hope to expand to other youth theater programs in the future). I've been planning on doing some Karaoke at the Tekko, I don't feel I'm ready for actual preforming a skit on the big competition stage just yet. I'll save that for, let's say...my second convention? lol. I'm having trouble deciding on what song I should sing, though. I wanted to choose something that would suit Lulu, y'know? I mean, it might make some people chuckle to have calm, stoic Lulu up there singing something like, say... the Hamptaro theme. lol. Not that that was an option I was considering to begin with, but you understand I hope. Have any suggestions of a nice, slow anime/game song that kind of strikes that "this reminds me of lulu" cord? Anyone? nn;;
