Programs for recording?
« on: September 15, 2005, 10:05:16 AM »
I just finished arranging my version of True Light (DNAngel OP) and Fields of Hope (Gundam Seed Destiny) and I'd like you all to hear it-- but... hmm. what program should I use to connect my keyboard to this comp o.o;.  I know it has a midi port on this keyboard.. but man.. there is no way I'm going to find a wire for that wierd looking hole..(don't won't to worry about finale yet). So I'll just do it from the headphone jack... lol, but what program should I use? I don't have any other than sound recorder.  Can anyone help me out with a link or something?  :(

I wish I knew more about this stuff... I would like to hear what some recording pros on the forums have to say about it.  When you're done, you'll send it to Fanplay, right?? ^^

If you are really desperate, do what I do...

sound recorder in accessories

you just gotta get the volume right

if there is a chord connecting your two comp. speakers together you can take that and attach one end to the keyboards Phones/output with an adapter, and the other to the audio in thingy on the back of the comp.

You'd need an adapter though...

or you could get a USB cable and hook it to the keyboard...I dont know how yet though.

I'm pretty sure what you're talking about is an Analog to USB converter right?  Its a black hole with three smaller black holes in your keyboard?  Thats called analog.  They do sell those wires, don't worry not expensive, and Finale will go ahead and let you record tothe computer with its hyperscribe tool, in midi however.  The speaker idea was good, a little to familiar for comfort, but if you get a cheap mixer $50-$150 and a free sequencer i think Fruity Loops is free, the quality will be good enough for your level of recording and produce mp3 quality sounds. ^_^
