i love how he writes, an' the artists he asks to draw for him are never short-up on talent.

i hear that he's got a movie comming out soon, any ideas or thoughts?

I'm not very familiar with his work, but I loved his book "Neverwhere"

ah! in that case read the book "sandman". that's my fav work by him.

he has a new book comming out called "anansi boys" an' i'm thinking it's a side story that came from an idea found in "american gods".

bit late for this now, but "Anansi Boys" is out now. I should probably go out and buy it... nah, i'll just mooch off from the library. And isn't "The Sandman" a comic book series rather than book? unless you're talking about "Dream Hunters"... sorry kind of geeky about his books, especially after having ot do a paper on them.

I just got a first edition signed copy of Anasi Boys from my bestfriend after reading American Gods.  This book is amazing!  I heart Neil Gaiman!  And his wonderful use of metaphors and imagry.

Oh and Anasi Boys isn't so much a side plot as like an underrated sequel to the amazing story of American Gods starring one of everyones favorite characters from the first.

AH! *glomples*

yes, i enjoyed american gods, though i didn't get to finish it... i find it hard to find people who agree with what you jus' said... a lot of fans were angry at american gods, saying neil gaiman was trying to write like other people or some nonsense.

an' i also agree that anansi was one of the more favorite gods in that book. (i loved the story about the tiger balls, haha)

Hehehe, totally agreed.

Mind you most fans are goth tards, or just elitest that thought they were the only one who knew Sandman existed.  I've read his work since Neverwhere.  I love the way he can play with language and not leave me bored like other writers.  Also the expository writing divert he made by adding in his own godly stories was just as amazingly awesome as the story itself.  He slammed in so many elements it made me dizzy with anger that I couldn't write that well (yet that is).  I look forward to what he comes out with next.  Definitely not the new Douglas Adam's of our time, but quite a spin on a neo look at that style of writing.

oh, i couldn't have said it better myself.

he is incomparable to any other writer, 'cos his style is his own... (you wouldn't compare dogs an' balverines, would you?)

i can't wait to get a chance to check out mirror mask.. (that's the movie's title, ight?)

Mirrormask was very awesome... Not one of my tops, but was still a great visual movie to fall into.

Now that I heard Johnny Depp and Sam Rami (script writer possible director) are working on Good Omens, I just had to pick the book up and read it all over again!

Sam is actually in almost all his movies, which I find really cute.  But I highly recommend Good Omens, talk about hilarious.  Clashing the brooding amazing Neil Gaimen, with the hysterically dry and sharp witted Terry Pratchett is pure genius.  I am in love with this book all over again.  Good Omens for bad things.
