Well as everybody else im also a musician when i was in high school it was all about the band. I was very serious about it and very dedicated. I played the tuba at that time. When i graduated i went to a community college here where i live. And i am studying here. While here i learned the piano trombone guitar(for mariachi) baritone and of course i still play the tuba. I picked all the instruments up pretty quick within a couple of days except for the guitar and piano. Those took a bit of time to learn. I am majoring in music education and when i head to texas state i will be minoring in foreign languages. I play and love the jazz band alot it just makes it more fun. Thats why i love Yoko Kanno's music cause its what i love. I also love video games and thats where my love for that music comes also. mariachi is also fun to play me being on a guitar for it is something else and here in south texas its is very appreciated for us to go around and play some tunes sigh i love music. Anyway there i am in a nutshell. You will be seeing me on sometime. Cya guys soon

I started Playing Keyboard about  6 years ago... back then i didnt had any money to take Piano or keyboard lessons. Since one year i´m playing Backroundmusic and Introductions for a cabaret. But sometimes i focus on practicing Piano music at home and people sometimes stop walking before my window and start to listen XD. My fingers often hurt and its really hard to figure out alot of techniques by myself without knowing how to read sheet music but its still fun. I dont think of giving up yet :)

I dabble in piano and guitar a bit, not great...and im also a half-decent composer.
However, my main forte is singing. Ive sung Tenor1&2/Baritone, been in choir 12 years-
been out of choir for 2. Im a good enough singer to recieve compliments from
strangers, but I think my voice is still unrefined and needs improvement.
I used to seek being a professinal vocalist, but i dont have the
connections and I dont have the looks. Ive been focusing a lot more on composition lately,
but havent come up with anything spectacular yet. Im currently working on a Legend of Zelda
medley for the piano to give to Piano Squall to play at Shimakon.....but its still far too buggy.

I had piano lessons on-and-off for about 9 years.  Kinda sad that I never developed the drive to practice.  I officially quit last year, and use it to 1. plonk out notes to figure out favorite melodies and 2. learn to play the occasional piano arrangement.

My heart's with woodwinds, I guess...I picked up the flute in the summer before 7th grade at my mom's suggestion, and quit before 9th grade at my mom's suggestion.  I don't live with her anymore.  Anyway, I still have that old thing (I got it in China, and it's proudly marked with MADE IN U.S.A) and use it to express what I can't by whistling.  Darned catchy video game/anime themes.
...?

I know this is an old one, but I hope no one minds bringing it up again, since it's a long-running thread.  ^^;

I've played the piano since I was about 5 or 6 years old, and took a year or so of piano lessons.  In high school I also joined band where I did flute and also drumline (percussion -- mostly mallets).  Mostly, though, I'm play the piano.  It's the only instrument I still play today, since I didn't take my flute with me after moving away for college.

I bought a new keyboard recently and was REALLY excited about this one becuase I hadn't had a piano in almost 3, 4 years.  I also went for one with weighted keys so that it feels like a real piano and I can't believe the difference having that and a damper pedal made.  It's so nice to be playing it again!!  ^_^

Wow, so many talented musicians!

I play the piano. I have had 2 and a half years of piano lessons, but that was about 7 years ago. I haven't been playing since then until last October, after hearing Piano Squall's music, which really inspired me to continue playing. Currently, I just play for fun, but I do play almost everyday. I play mostly video game and anime music.

Congratulations on your new keyboard! May I ask what keyboard did you buy? I'm really into digital pianos right now. ^_^

All you talented people.... make me feel like a clumsy little child.

I've played the alto saxophone for nearly five years (and I can never find any FF sheet music for it, sadness). I've been singing since I was little, and I've taken lessons for at least two or three years and it'll be my second year in choir this year. I'm also trying to teach myself how to play piano, but that's a distant dream.... I just want to be able to play all the stuff I like.

I don't really know how serious about this I am- I mean, I never want to STOP playing music, but I don't think it would be my career. I'm too lazy. I almost never practice. But lately I've been giving it a lot of thought. Hmmm.....

I agree with Honnli- Piano Squall is a big inspiration to me, which is why I've been thinking of music so often lately. I definitely want to continue learning as much as I can.
Mics are for singing, not swinging.

When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot. So, what the hell, leap!

Views the human voice as the instrument. In chorale assembly for 4 years in my school, hoping
for ONE ... ONE chance to play Uematsu's pieces.
Come on... The only logic that exists in this world is instinct, nothing else see?

It would be nice to have choir peices I agree! The choir at my school LOVES anime and that would be really cool to have that. Next year it'll be my 2nd year in choir.

Sure!  After a bit of research I decided on a Korg SP-250.  In comparison to other keyboards in the same price range, the Korg had far superior key feel and the sound was comparable to keyboards that were hundreds of dollars more expensive.

Plus I had it reccommended by a co-worker whose opinions on keyboards and musical instruments I really trust, so when I found that out, it was pretty much a sell right there.  ;)

*raises hand*

I can't sing to save my life, but I play piano ... a bit.  :D Nothing serious, just stuff showing my love for anime and video games.

I steered away from a pure-classical background a while ago under the guidance of Uematsu, Shimomura, Mitsuda, umm... and others. I'm greatly inspired by Michael, the VGP, w3sp, Kyle Landry and basically any musician who can perform a piece with emotion.
