Vampire Hunter D
« on: August 23, 2005, 02:13:57 AM »
I didn't feel like making this into a poll...well...I didn't know how...But anyway...

We are about a month away from the release of the second volume of the Vampire Hunter D novels. My question to the masses is, which was better, Vampire Hunter D the novel or the film? For those who didn't read the novel, the first was made into the first movie.

Personally, I liked the book more. I loved the movie, (I chose the first over Bloodlust and it was the first full anime movie I've ever seen...wait...it was either that or Akira...), but the book delivered more of a story. I loved hearing about Rei's past (well...before he worked for Magus Lee anyway). I also thought the movies were missing an explanation to the obsidian, ancient ruins of sky-scrapers and other buildings.

I saw the books out on shelves not too long ago, but I still haven't read any of them yet. I liked the first Vampire Hunter D, but I think I prefer Bloodlust, because there aren't as many long shots of scenery and plot holes, plus I prefer the tragic romance of the Bloodlust story. Reading the books would probably clear up a lot for me. Hopefully I'll find the time after final exams week.  [-o<

I've been getting into that series lately, I believe book 3 was just released. Too bad I'm still on the second
