Guilty Gear X2 [I think] for the original Xbox and PS2 ... It is a great mix and reminds me of Yngwie ... and Malice Mizer ... and Moi Dix Mois dometimes too >.>

Guitaroo Man !!! Great music there ^^

Left 4 Dead ... the music is very simple but anyone who has played it long enough knows that each musical ques means something ... like the silence broken by sobs = witch ... the sudden crescendo = Tank ... it's all good

Bioshock and Fallout 3 ... That old time, 40's and 50's era music is growing on me >.>

has anybody mentioned the obvious music games ? DDR, Rock Band or, Guitar Hero? I loved the music in DDR ... and Guitar Hero Metallica, though insane, has my favorite set-list. Rock Band has IV by X but it is only available as DLC >.>

Uematsu is amazing, so most of the final fantasy series has something.  The music for Chrono Trigger was, however, epic, and not simply the work of Uematsu...

Koji Kondo is as well, hence the Zelda and Metroid series.

Super Mario RPG is up there.

There are MANY games out there with epic content, from Dragon Warrior to Xenosaga to Megaman.  Some really stand out; but you can't really say one game has the best.

Final Fantasy has some of the most epic stuff since around FF7 or FF8 not because of the pure musical content, but rather because of the arrangement to the game.  They've been getting good at this, games are starting to become more like operas (I hate opera, but whatever).
