what was the first videogame you ever played? well, that you remember.

I can't personally remember mine but my momma says that it was these Sesame Street learning games on NES when i was a little bebe. so cute! she even took pictures, what a crazy weirdo, gamer in the making!

ACtually, my first game was Super Ghouls and Ghosts for SNES... that game is so freeking hard! It took me forever FOREVER to get to the end... and when i did, it said that i couldnt get in the final door because i missed an amulet, so i had to start over?

I broke the game. ^_^

Your first games were on SNES? n00bs. (XD just kidding i love you don't eat me)

To be honest, I don't know. My older brother had a Colecovision (or however it was spelled), and there was some weird centipede-type game that I kicked butt on. Don't remember what it was called, in fact, I only have a very fleeting memory of it. I know he had an Atari, too..... my brother's seventeen years older than I am. XD

I know I played the original Super Mario Bros. (when it was NEW!), but I was already six by then. I was playing games before that, though, I know it.

DUDE you beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts?! That's the hardest freaking game EVERRRRRRR!! I still have it (lol), and I've NEVER gotten past the first level. My younger brother did. ONCE. I gave up on the stupid thing, deeming it more impossible than Zelda II. At least I beat the first temple in that game.

i think i speak for everybody when i say that we'd have broken it too. or have at least broken one ridiculously hard game or two.(Mortal Combat) another annoying game like that is LoLa. that was one of my first games too. i havent gotten past level 40 yet. the codes they give you never work! but i'll keep trying!

Uh, I remember playing Jumpman, if that's what you mean....

The one I was talking about was go-through-eight-worlds-to-save-the-princess-who-was-always-in-another-castle Mario.

I gave up on the stupid thing, deeming it more impossible than Zelda II. At least I beat the first temple in that game.

My first game which I played serious was a tie between  Super Mario Bros and Zelda II. I'd played other games before those, but in arcades and stuff-these two, I got for Christmas (I was eight) and played the heck out of 'em. I don't remember which one I played first that day, so they're tied. But I played them both religously and finished them both...Zelda first, then Mario...and thought I was the coolest guy ever for it.

Super Ghouls and Ghosts...holy CRAP that game is hard. I somehow managed to beat the insanly tough original on the NES, but with SG&G, I worked tirelessly over a weekend ('twas a rental) just  to get to the third level.

And then I find out that to win, you have to play all the way to the end, beat the boss...AND THEN PLAY ALL THE WAY THROUGH AGAIN ON THE SAME GAME. Yep, you have to play through the whole bloody thing TWICE without running out of lives to get to the true last boss and the ending. SO EVIL.

So after I found that out, I gave up and never rented it again. --;;;

WHAAAAAAAAAAT. Beat it twice without dying?! That's impossible. Kevin Keane himself couldn't do it.

You beat Zelda II? Ray... oh my gosh, I bow before you. Hell, I bow before anyone who's beaten that game. I can't do it. ... Mayhaps I'll start over on a new file when I get my Gamecube back.

Bowing? Wowo...^^;; Venus has bowed to me. WILL LIFE EVER BE THE SAME? TUNE IN NEXT TIME! (spoiler: life remained the same)

To be fair, though, it took me like five months (I was stuck in the Great Palace for three weeks before finally figuring out where the boss was) to reach the end, and I must've revived Ganon like eight million times.

I just checked, Onion. Though I skimmed, I don't think I saw a similar topic. If you can find it, though, let me know.

Did anyone ever have the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt/weird-track-and-field game? I remember that our NES came with three games in one and the Power Pad. Oh, the Power Pad. Many hours of stomping and then causing my mother to yell.....
