I was all trying to watch Conan (there was almost a WHOLE episode without someone dying...But they squished it in at the end....Maybe next time... It was eerily like Wyvern's scenario in the intro thread. I was like...WOAH...How did he KNOW?)This night with my family and like.....

What's wrong with me? Why aren’t I understanding everything? I mean I get it but like...it seems...FUZZIER than usual...NAAAAAAZEEEEEE.....(There's this show where they solve mysteries and the guy goes like...'NAAAAAAZEEEEE' and it's really funny...)

Most dubbs...Need to just...Not...exist.
Maybe a couple…Like GOOD ones, where people know what they’re doing (I’m getting sick of hearing the same 8 people over and over….Nyar) So anyway, ones with people that posses nice voices (rare in people….Not ONE English dubber guy has a ‘cute’ voice. And the girls don’t do little boys (WHY NOT? Since when do 12 year olds sound like middle aged dudes on helium? The Free Crispy man......Nuuujh. >_<)) So like…This leaves Porco Rosso, You’re Under Arrest, and Lupin….Maybe five others if they’re lucky..
But not Fruits basket, Or Inuyasha *SHUDDER*….. AND NOT GRAVITATION O.M.G.

We found it on the Anime Channel of whatever, and like....I was NOT a happy monkey. I was like...

And...I think I remember the ‘Flowne on Fox, I caught one on Summer Break in Massachusetts when I was really little….er. (Like a fiefly….)

Anyway….Dubbs aren’t like…..Wrong to like…..

I mean…Blasphemy isn’t an issue nowadays….So like dubs aren’t bad or anything….

I don’t hold dubs against people. That’s mean. Everyone’s opinion is special and valid, and no one’s wrong. I like picking on dubs, because I don’t personally like them, but it’s ‘prolly good they exist (maybe…I sill need to convince ,myself why) and uh…
Yay for Conan having uncut original Japanese (and real names intact) DVD releases.

I’d die having to read ‘Jimmy Kudo’, YAY FOR SHIN-ICHI!

I’m so glad they don’t butcher some of the nice shows on DVD….yaaay.

I could never get into Escaflowne. In fact the noses on the show bother me so much I call it "Escaflow-naise". Lol. I dunno. If I had assurances that the romance was good I might give it another shot, but those noses....dear god you could cut bread with those things!

The story is very good!! Plus there are multiple love triangles!! ) And the drama, oh, the drama...

Once I got past the noses (the first five minutes!!!), I fell in love with it!! Once fox ended it... I was obsessed because I never got to see the end!! (own it now, thank you jeebus)

And the anime is a thousand times better than the manga!! There's more than one, one shojo and one shounen. The shounen ran 8 volumes (Tokyo Pop brought it to the US). The shojo was much shorter. It's odd... the reason I can't get into the Escaflowne manga is because they make Van EXACTLY like Inuyasha. (Rude, fang-boy that uses the girl)

A funny thing about the american dubb voice overs....
((I know, I know... almost everyone around here is a purist and hates dubbs...))
... Hitomi is Sango and Van is Miroku. Folken(the movie one for sure) is Naraku. *LMAO* If you only knew how many times I wanted to write a crossover with Miroku as Naraku's brother.... you'd all wark yourselves. (Not that anyone really cares, but Allen has the voice of the first Zechs Merquise from GW. His accent in Esca is so inconsistent in the beginning... -_-)

I never got over the noses either (They bothered me to the very end) but It’s DEFINITELY worth watching all the way through. I was on the edge of my seat through those last few DVD’s….
Movie sucked…But it was pretty.

I don't care a heck of a lot for romance (Bleh) but the drama's is top notch and the robot-y fight scenes make the series one of the best around.
Did I mention the GREAT characters and drama?

Anyway, I'll mention the music 'cause I’m a geek.

ALL the BG music is fantastic and...Like...Just the fact Kano Youko worked on it is enough to watch it alone.
The music makes the series all that much more breathtaking, and Ｍaaya Sakamoto (Idol and singer for the opening, works with Kano Youko a lot (Rahxephon, Ｌodoss war, like…everything pretty)) does Hitomi's voice.
No, she's not a great voice actress but she's got a very pleasing speaking voice.

Hell she's better than the dub chick (Sorry sango, maybe you got better, I wouldn’t know since I think the Inuyasha dubs are one of the worst done to date. HOW DO YOU MISPRONOUCE SHIPPO?
who can't say ‘Sheep'？ it’s not hard! Just add and 'oh' and you got SHIPPO! ( I mean, if I were being anal retentively technical, I'd talk about the slight pause before the 'p' sound, as it IS a double 'P' but I am more than forgiving　that, as that is like, an annoying part of the language)

Siiiigh….Anyway, Watch it, it’s good.
Cut version will kill it.

Wow... I had no idea it was so bad... (hasn't seen the latest eps anyway *doesn't have cable/satallite tv*) Well, I'm too poor to buy all the Inuyasha dvds to get the bilanguage versions.... besides, we only have the first season/25ish eps as a condensed release so far. (and it's almost $90)

But yes... how could I not mention the music of Escaflowne??? The music is SOOO fantastic. (Yoko Kanno is my favorite modern composer!) They were the first songs I ever downloaded!! (Yes, I'm evil.. I even found the "For Lovers Only" Esca soundtrack... but was so sick the last day of the con that I forgot to pick it up ) I have so many. The movie has good music too. "Sora!!" (um, I think that's the name... I'm pretty forgetful lately...) The main reason I bought the special edition of the movie for FOR the soundtrack. (It was worth it!... I just wish I didn't have two copies of the movie now... *sigh*)

I love the Escaflowne!! (as a "mech") There was a limited edition release of the series years ago that came with a REALLY limited Black Escaflowne action figure. In my local comic shop where I order manga (and collect cc/tcgs like Inuyasha)... they have one out of the box!! One day, maybe one day they'll take pity on me and let me buy it... *sigh* The design for the Escaflowne was... dare I say sleek and sexy??? *lol*

I remember all the saliva in my mouth escaping involuntarily while watching those FANTASTICLY BEAUTIFUL planes in Last Exile.

I was like...I WILL MARRY A PLANE MADE OUT OF BREAD! (I've already promised myself to my love of bread...But I...I...I can't cheat on it, so I cheat without cheating...)

And robots...Are HOT.

Like...There's this Anime, eureka Seven, and like...Those cool-ass robots are on Flying surfboards and like, KYAAA!
AND it manages to feed my ‘I don't-have-a-shouta-complex’ complex (Cute stupid kid too) IN THE FLYING ROBOT!

Escaflowe IS a beautiful machine, so...smooth and...and...I want to touch it.....
So much less bulky than those refrigerator-like gundams.

My only problem with pretty machines is that they destroy everything….Like trees…I think I like trees a little too much. (Ki-suki complex).

Therefore, They have to be able to transform into non-aesthetically challenged planes.




People either are completely insane for the Inuyasha dubbs (because they have no idea how bad they are), or hate them with a burning passon.

HOW DO YOU NOT PRONOCE THE 'SHEEP' IN 'SHIPPO'???
