Ghibli Medley?
« on: June 05, 2005, 12:49:01 PM »
So many requests being thrown around! ^_^;; Sorry Michael-san, but I just got to watch Howl's Moving Castle last night and tne ending with that gorgeous melody made me tear up. I think it would be awesome to make a sort of Studio Ghibli movie medley sometime in the future. Tonari no Totoro, Mononoke-Hime, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikukashi, Howl's Moving Castle... Ghibli films have such beautiful themes!

Am I the only one who'd like to hear some Ghibli music? ^^

GHIIIIIIBBLIIIIII!
Can't leave out Nausica or Laputa (although I think Laputa and HMC share a tune.....)
Ghibli music just swirls around inside of you, I think this would flow really well.

Howl's Moving catsle rocked,
I was watching it with a buncha school girls and like, this one, everytime Howl so much as moved she's goo 'KYAAA I love you too, let's  geet married.' or when he was all squishying Sophie, she'd go "NOOOO! You betry me!"
And I thought American fangirls were weird.
So long as there's Natto on this planet, Japanese got no right to say jack to anybody about food.

XD!! Yes, I like the Laputa music, too, but I figured maybe not as many people had seen it. I haven't seen Nausicaa or Nadia yet.

Laputahas one of the most recognizeable Ghibli melodies. Nausicaa has a song that I've LOVED (a lala tune) since I saw "Warriors of the Wind."

You should watch Nausicaa! I highly recommend it! ^_^ I've read the manga volumes too... they're even better!

Oooh, I want to see Howl's Moving Castle! I hope they will have a theatrical release near me...

I liked the ending song of "Spirited Away" and the story behind it. How a lady sent in the tape to Hayao Miyazaki, and he loved it so much he put it in!

The main theme to Howl's Moving Castle could easily be written for a solo piano, hell...it mostly already is.

Ghibli tends to make difficult music for its movies. i'm working on a song in Spirited Away. its the song when Haku is flying Chihiro(i think i spelled it wrong) back to the bathhouse at the near end of the movie. i just couldn't keep my hands off of it! it always makes me cry.  :biggrin:but in a good way! kind of....

I agree with that for the most part, but HMC has some really good, and not that difficult music.
Get someone to sing the meledy to "The promise of the World" with piano in the background would be awesome.

I love Sekai no Yakusoku.... T_T The great thing about Ghibli ending themes is that they require more choir-like or operatic singers instead of pop/rock diva singers. Hooray for the choir-trained! XD

I was watching Laputa:Castle in the Sky for the millionth time today . . .

And I love the ending theme!! ^_^ (don't know the name) I saw the soundtrack at Kuni-Den. I should have picked it up!! (along with Escaflowne: For Lovers Only, dangit)

Funny thing is . . . that movie reminds me of the first Grandia game on PS. :)

Some of my favorite songs come from Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa, even though its not really a Ghibli film, I still think it should be taken into account since it was one of Miyazaki's first original movies.

And the ending theme to Laputa is Kimi O Nosete (Carrying You/Putting on You)
Aggro is a term from massively multiplayer games that is, in essence, a measurement of how much monsters hate you. I always had a feeling they were pretty mad, but I didn't know who they were mad at or exactly how much.
