So... a bit slow to get posts here... You know, I've only ever seen a bit of "Gravitation", at an anime club meeting. I never saw the rest of the series because... well... it's expensive! $90 for a 13 episode series? There are several 26 episode series that sell for $90. I'm hoping the price will go down in the future... But, even though I've just know a bit about gravitation I can give you some comments.
As I said, I saw some of "Gravitation" at an anime club meeting at my University. Seeing as a good many members were males, it was a bit of a venture to show something like that. If cracking jokes about an anime is how guys express dislike of an anime, then I might venture to assume there were several who disliked watching "Gravitation". I can't tell what they were thinking, I'm just noting an observation here. But I have no problems with it, just so long as it's not hentai (which "Gravitation" is not). Well, as the old saying goes, each to his own... "Gravitation" is just a fictional story... watching it is not making any statement about your views of the real world. Surely some people worry about those who pass unfair judgment on those who watch such animes... they're out there, to be sure...
Now, I've only seen a couple of romance animes... I've seen "Oh my Goddess" and some of "Saber Marionette J"... so I don't have a lot to compare it with. But what all these enjoyable animes seem to have in common is this age old truth: love can be wacky and unpredictable. And that makes it interesting! Take that and put it in an interesting setting - in the presence of Goddesses, a planet devoid of all human females, among a struggling band called "Bad Luck" - and I'd say you have a recipe for success. Of course what makes "Gravitation" stand out from the traditional romance animes is that it's romance between males, and that's it's double edged sword. It will make some keep away from it and others watch it. But it will almost always give a surprise to those who hear about it, and Gravitation has certainly become well known among anime, if not always well liked.
Um, if I may go off-topic for a bit... I was wondering what the "Ra-chan" under your icon signified. There is
another member who has the username Ra-chan. I can tell you what that signifies. Her (real) name is Rachel and she just changed it a little to get Ra-chan.
