Not to be argumentative, but I have heard yaoi used as an inclusive term to refer to any type of anime/manga dealing with male-male relationships, even if that isn't the original meaning of the word.  I believe it's something like the word otaku - it started taking on a slightly different meaning in the Western world.  If you really want to delve deeply into the origin of this word, it's an acronym that stands for "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi" which translates to "no peak, no point, no meaning".  That was what it said in the "Gravi Dictionary" section of the website that SagaciousSprite mentioned above.  Here is the full quote:
"YAOI - an acronym that stands for "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi (no peak, no point, no meaning)." The term is generally used to indicate explicit and graphic homosexuality between two males. YAOI is mainly directed at a more mature audience, usually NC-17. YAOI can also be used to generalize the entire shounen-ai genre."

thank you RD! ^_^  hai he's right that's what a wide vurity of us call it, but that's also kui as well ameria ^^

So... a bit slow to get posts here... You know, I've only ever seen a bit of "Gravitation", at an anime club meeting.  I never saw the rest of the series because... well... it's expensive!  $90 for a 13 episode series?  There are several 26 episode series that sell for $90.  I'm hoping the price will go down in the future...  But, even though I've just know a bit about gravitation I can give you some comments.
As I said, I saw some of "Gravitation" at an anime club meeting at my University.  Seeing as a good many members were males, it was a bit of a venture to show something like that.  If cracking jokes about an anime is how guys express dislike of an anime, then I might venture to assume there were several who disliked watching "Gravitation".  I can't tell what they were thinking, I'm just noting an observation here.  But I have no problems with it, just so long as it's not hentai (which "Gravitation" is not).  Well, as the old saying goes, each to his own...  "Gravitation" is just a fictional story... watching it is not making any statement about your views of the real world.  Surely some people worry about those who pass unfair judgment on those who watch such animes... they're out there, to be sure...
Now, I've only seen a couple of romance animes... I've seen "Oh my Goddess" and some of "Saber Marionette J"... so I don't have a lot to compare it with.  But what all these enjoyable animes seem to have in common is this age old truth: love can be wacky and unpredictable.  And that makes it interesting!  Take that and put it in an interesting setting - in the presence of Goddesses, a planet devoid of all human females, among a struggling band called "Bad Luck" - and I'd say you have a recipe for success.  Of course what makes "Gravitation" stand out from the traditional romance animes is that it's romance between males, and that's it's double edged sword.  It will make some keep away from it and others watch it.  But it will almost always give a surprise to those who hear about it, and Gravitation has certainly become well known among anime, if not always well liked.

Um, if I may go off-topic for a bit... I was wondering what the "Ra-chan" under your icon signified.  There is another member who has the username Ra-chan.  I can tell you what that signifies.  Her (real) name is Rachel and she just changed it a little to get Ra-chan.

I remember my experiences watching this series.  I went to the US premiere at Anime Next 2004.  Nearly all the people in the room were girls crazy with anticipation of what the dub would be like.  When I got in there, the intro music was already playing.  When the first episode started, it was actually in Japanese at first, but the staff quickly changed it to English (which dissapointed some of the audience).  When Shuichi first appeared, the fangirls screamed.  When Yuki first appeared, they screamed again(there were some dissatisfied voices in the room when they first heard his English voice). They screamed once more at the end of the first episode too.  I walked out of the room amazed at what I saw.  I could see why this was a series that shounen-ai fans talked about.  Later, I went back to watch the third episode(I went to a Central Park Media panel right after, thus missing episode 2). accompanied by the fangirl screams again and walked out with a desire to see the rest.

Eventually, I saw all 13 episodes off of Anime Network, and thought it was a good series.  Then, I went to Otakon 2005.......

On Friday night of the con, my sister and I were walking about when we heard fangirl screaming from not too far away.  We walked quickly to see what was going on.  Lo and behold, it was the premiere of the Gravitation OVA--subtitled! Once again I was in a room packed with craziness! Though it was a fun craziness! We were only in the room for five minutes before staff kicked some of us out--there were too many fans in the room.  I still have yet to see both episodes in their entiriety, but I plan to eventually!

I guess it's a tribute band, like Beatlemania or something. Only the band they're tributing DOESN'T ACTUALLY EXIST, while they clearly do, so does that mean that the tribute has surpassed the original? That the teacher has surpassed the master? ONLY A MASTER OF EVIL, DARTH!

But someone must have recorded the songs at some point.
So I guess it kninda exists, just not really.
So I...guess....that's a...no? Tribute band is Not a master of evil?

Or, if you're going by what Nervy says, yeah. Just evil.

Or if by Cali, then they're not even a master of evil.
(going with my first argument,  The bad luck Songs were recorded at some point, so just by existing, the tribute band can't surpass the artist after all, but if they suck they can't even surpass by being a master of evil.....or something)

Whoooaaaa.....I'm confused......@_@

Na...not EVIL...just inexperienced...but I must say that they do have their own thing, thats cool for them I guess. I was also unawares that the act was based on the actual music. Sorry to be a critic. I usually am not especially on things I know not much of. I would think though that the main focus would be on the act though....
